IFAD’s Regional Director for West and Central Africa, Mr. Lisandro Martin, was on a mission to Cameroon from April 23rd to 27th, 2019. Objective: To support the National Programme management team and the IFAD country team in preparing for the upcoming visit of the Fund’s President and Board members, scheduled in late July.

During the field trip of Mr. Martin and his delegation, PADFA’s achievements recieved a particular attention, with the visit of Koutaba and Tonga Cooperatives. The occasion was therefore given to the senior IFAD representative to appreciate the achievements of the Project firsthand.

At the end of this visit, which was also an opportunity for him to meet and exchange personally with the cooperators, the Regional Director was very impressed by the dynamism of the rice farmers, especially in the SOCOOPERIEK (Goundup), where he commended the remarkable involvement of women and young people in the rice industry.
